SPONGY BLACK FOREST CAKE

Black forest cake

INGREDIENTS

  • Allpurpose flour (maida) – 2cups
  • Powdered sugar (shakkar ) – 1 & 1/2 cup
  • Coco Powder – 4 tablespoon
  • Vinegar or lemon juice – 3 tablespoon or curd – 1cup
  • Vanila or Chocolate essence – 4 to 5 drops (optional)
  • Milk – 1 cup ( more or less as per medium consistency requirement)
  • Whipped cream – 3 cups
  • Grated chocolate – 1 cup
  • Baking Powder – 2 teaspoon
  • Baking soda – 1 teaspoon
  • Refined oil or ghee or butter – 1/2 cup

PREPARATION TIME -2 HOURS
BAKING TIME - 1 HOUR
RECIPE TOTAL TIME - 3 HOURS

QUANTITY - 12 PIECES

PROCEDURE

Take a bowl with oil in it. Add powdered sugar, milk and vinegar in it. Mix this mixture well till it becomes light. Keep this mixture aside.

Meanwhile take any vessel or a tin and grease it with oil.

Then take a pressure cooker or any aluminium vessel. Put a plate or a stand at the bottom of the vessel or the pressure cooker and keep it on the gas on low flame for 10 minutes for preheating.

Now take the liquid mixture which was already prepared and kept aside. Add all purpose flour, coco powder, baking power and baking soda into it.

Stir this batter lightly and slowly in one direction only. Make sure that there are no lumps in the batter. The consistency of the batter should be medium.

Pour this batter into the tin or vessel which is already greased with oil. Keep it into the preheated pressure cooker or any aluminium vessel.

Cover this vessel or pressure cooker with any plate or glass lid.

If you are using pressure cooker then please remove ring (gasket) and remove whistle also.

After 40 minutes, check the batter by inserting a tooth pick or a knife. If the batter leaves on the knife or the tooth pick, then bake it for another 10 minutes.

Again check the batter after 10 minutes. If the knife or the tooth pick comes out clean, then your cake is ready.

Raw cake

Turn off the gas and take out the tin and keep the cake aside for cooling.

Till the cake gets cool, let’s prepare the whipped cream.

Take a bowl with 2 cups of cream. This cream is easily available in the market.

Now take an electric blender or a hand whisker and whisk it till it becomes light and fluffy.

Electric blender takes 15 minutes for whipping process and hand whisker takes around 30 to 35 minutes. Here your whipped cream is ready.

Black forest cake

Now demould the cake into a plate after it gets cool. Do not demould the hot cake so that the cake will not stick or break.

Cut the cake into 2 layers or you can keep the whole cake. Cutting of the cake into the layers is as per your choice.

Put sugar syrup and whipped cream on the first layer. Do the same process on the second layer also.

Cover the upper layer and all sides by whipped cream. Make it plain by all sides with the help of spatula.

Now decorate the cake with help of grated chocolate over and by all sides of the cake.

You can decorate the cake with the homemade chocolate of any shape.
