HERE WE LEARN ONION PAKODA RECIPE | KANDA BHAJI RECIPE

INGREDIENTS: 

  • Onion – 7 to 8 (big size)
  • Green chilli – 2 chopped
  • Salt – 1 traspoon or as per taste
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Carom seeds – 1 teaspoon
  • Seasame seeds – 1 tablespoon
  • Asafoetida – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Rice flour – 2 tablespoon
  • Gram flour – 4 to 5 tablespoon
  • Coriander leaves – chopped 1/2 cup(optional)
  • Fresh water – As per requirement (only for binding)
  • Refined oil – 2 to 3 cups (for deep frying)

PROCEDURE

First of all take a bowl.

Peel the onions and slice into thin slices. Take it in a bowl and add salt over it.

Mix it well and keep it for 10 minutes rest, so that onion leaves water due to salt.

After 10 minutes, add gram flour, rice flour, red chilli powder, seasame seeds, carom seeds, turmeric powder, asafoetida, chopped green chillies and salt as per taste as we have already added it in onion mixture.

Now add 2 to 3 tablespoon water as per requirement and mix it well.

The consistency of the batter should be thick.

You can add chopped coriander leaves also in it which is optional.

 Keep a kadhai or a pan with oil in it and keep it  for heating on high gas flame.

Meanwhile add baking soda and mix the batter lightly.

 After oil gets heated, drop the batter in small round shape in the hot oil with help of hand or here you can also use a spoon to drop the batter in the hot oil.

The onion pakoda does not have any specific shape. You can make it in any shape. Fry it till the color becomes golden brown.

Here your pakoda is ready.

Just like this make all rest pakoda.

At last, fry 2 to 3 green chillies in the remaining oil and then turn off the gas.

Here your easy crispy, tasty, hot and spicy oniion pakoda is ready to eat.

Serve it with tomato ketchup and with fied green chilli with some salt sprinkled over green chilli.

Onion pakoda can also be served with soft bread.

 Onion pakoda is a very easy and fast breakfast dish.

It is mostly loved by all in rainy season with a cup of tea.

This dish is well known by the name “Kanda Bhaji”.

Ans: No. It is not a good digestive but by adding carrom seeds, it becomes easy for digetion.

Ans: Add rice flour to make onion pakoda crispy or you can add 2 to 3 tablespoon hot oil in the batter.

 

Q3: How to make pakoda less oily?

Ans: Add rice flour in the batter to make pakoda less oily. Due to rice flour pakoda becomes dry and crispy.
