HERE YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO MAKE
CRISPY URAD DAL PAKODA
(RECIPE OF SPLIT BLACK GRAM)
INGREDIENTS
- Split black gram – 1 cup
- Chopped onion – 1 medium size
- Salt – 1 tablespoon
- Chopped green chilies – 4 to 5
- Ginger – 1 teaspoon paste
- Cumin powder – 1 teaspoon
- Coriander seeds powder – 1 teaspoon
- Rice flour – 1/2 cup
- Fresh water – 2 to 3 tablespoon ( As per requirement for thick consistency)
- Refined oil – 2 to 3 cups for deep frying
TOTAL COOKING TIME : 2 AND 1/2 HOURS
QUANTITY : 4 TO 5 PLATES
PROCEDURE
First of all take split black gram (urad dal) in a bowl.
Wash it i water for 2 to 3 times.
Again add fresh water in the split black gram and soak it in the water for 2 hours.
After 2 hours the dal becomes soft. Again wash it with fresh water for 2 to 3 times.
Drain all the water from the split black gram.
Take a mixer jar, put the split black gram in a mixer jar and grind it into a fine paste.
Add 1 to 2 tablespoon water into the batter while grinding.
Make sure that your consistency of the batter should be thick. So add the water carefully.
After the fine paste is ready take it out from mixer jar and pour it into the bowl.
Now add salt, cumin powder, coriander seed powder, rice flour, ginger paste, chopped onions and chopped green chilies into the batter.
Stir the batter for 5 to 7 minutes lightely so that it becomes fluffy.
Take a pan or a kadhai with the oil in it and keep it on the gas on high flame.
After the oil gets heated, drop the batter into the hot oil by the hand or a small spoon to make small size pakoda.
Deep fry the pakoda till the colour of pakoda becomes golden brown.
You can dro 6 to 7 pakodas into the pan or the kadhai at a time.
Just like this process deep fry all the pakodas.
Here your crispy, spicy and hot split black gram or urad dal pakoda are ready.
You can serve these hot pakodas with tomato ketchup, green chutney or green fried chilies.
This is a snack dish made with less ingredients. You can enjoy at any time.
This is a tea time snack dish. People enjoy this dish generally in rainy season.
