PROCEDURE
Take flattened rice and sieve it, so that if there is any rice powder or dust in it, will be removed.
Then take all these flattened rice in a bowl. Add chopped onion, salt, sugar, grated fresh coconut, coriander leaves, chopped tomatoes, lemon juice, chopped green chilies in it and mix it well.
(Due to fresh coconut, tomatoes, salt, lemon juice and onion, these flattened rice becomes soft as it gets moist due all these ingredients).
Now cover this bowl for 10 minutes so that the flatted rice gets the tempting aroma of onion in it.
(This process of covering the flattened rice is called dadapne in marathi language, hence the name of this dish is also called as dadpe pohe). Meanwhile heat the oil in a small pan or kadhai on the gas.
Now fry all peanuts till it becomes light brown color and then take out from pan and keep it on a plate.
Now use the same hot oil and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds in it.
After these seeds pops add curry leaves, asafoetida and then turn off the gas.
Now pour this hot oil over flattened rice which was kept aside.
Ass all fried peanuts in it and again mix this well by a spoon. After mixing, cover the bowl by a plate and keep for 5 to 7 minutes aside.
After 5 to 7 minutes your tempting, delicious soft flattened rice or dadpe pohe dish is ready.
