How to make sabudana khichdi
INGREDIENTS
- Sago (sabudana) – 250 grams
- Peanut powder (shengdana koot) – 1 & 1/2 cup
- Chopped green chilies -2
- Cumin seeds(jeera) – 1 tea spoon
- Sugar – 1 tea spoon
- Red chili powder – 1/2 tea spoon
- Salt (namak) – 1 table spoon
- Oil or Ghee -2 table spoon
COOKING TIME - 15 MINUTES
SERVE QUANTITY - 5 PLATES
PROCEDURE
How to make sabudana khichdi is now easy to understand here.
Let’s start to know it…
Soak sago(sabudana) in water for around 10 hrs. (Take water quantity only up to sago(sabudana) soaks the complete water; it should not be more or less. For this water level and sago(sabudana) level same).
After the sago(sabudana) soaked well. Add peanut powder, salt, sugar, chopped green chilies in it and mix all the ingredients well.
Now put a pan/ kadhai on cooking gas and pour oil in it and after it will hot, add cumin (jeera seeds).
After 2 minutes, when cumin seed pops, add all the mixture (which is already prepared) into the oil and again mix it well.
Now pour little red chili powder and again mix in it. By adding red chili powder the khichdi color comes very nice.
Now cover the mixture by a plate. After 5 minutes, again mix it, so that it cook well. Do this process till sago(sabudana) becomes transparent.
Check it after every 2 minutes so that khichdi is not burn.
When sago(sabudana) cooked well, it becomes soft and transparent. This means your sago or sabudana khichdi is now ready.
* One can also add boiled cu pieces of potato in sago(sabudana) khichdi.
* It can be served with curd or adding 2 to 3 drops of lemon juice over khichdi.
