HOW TO MAKE PAVBHAJI
Here we learn how to make spicy and tasty pavbhaji.
INGREDIENTS
- Potato – 3 to 4 (medium size)
- Tomato – 2 big size
- Onion – 3 to 4 (medium size)
- Green chilies – 2
- Grated ginger – 1 tablespoon
- Garlic – 4 to 5 cloves chopped
- Cabbage – 2 cups chopped or 1 small size whole cabbage
- Clauliflower – 2 cups chopped or 1 small size whole clauliflower
- Capsicum – 2 (medium size)
- Refined oil – 3 tablespoon
- Mustard seeds – teaspoon
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon
- Red chilli powder – 2 tablespoon
- Pavbhaji masala – 1 & 1/2 tablespoon
- Salt – 2 teaspoon or as per taste
- Grated jaggery – 1 tablespoon (for taste)
- Coriander leaves – 1 cup chopped
- Fresh drinking water – 2 to 3 cups or as per requirement.
- Lemon – 1
- Kahmiri red chilli powder – 1 teaspoon
- Pav – 12 or as per requirement
QUANTITY : 4 TO 5 PLATES
RECIPE TIME : 45 MINUTES
PROCEDURE
First of all wash all the vegetables and then chopped it.
Take a pressure cooker and put all chopped vegetables that is potato, onion, cabbage, clauliflower, capsicum, green chillies, tomato, grated ginger, garlic cloves into it.
Now add 2 cups fresh water and boil all the vegetables for 3 to 4 whistles.
After 3 to 4 whistles, turn off the gas.
Cool the pressure cooker for 10 to 15 minutes.
After 10 to 15 minutes take out all the vegetables into a bowl and mash it well, so that all the boiled vegetables gets mix and becomes smooth in texture.
Put a pan or a kadhai on the gas. Take 3 tablespoon refined oil in it on high gas flame.
Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, pav bhaji masala. kashmiri red chilli powder and saute it well.
After that add the mashed boiled vegetables into the pan and again saute it well.
If the consistency of the curry (pavbhaji) becomes thick then add some water again as per requirement.
Add salt and jaggery for taste and again mix it well.
Cook it for 5 minutes and then turn off the gas.
Here your spicy and tasty pavbhaji is ready.
Garnish it with fresh chopped coriander leaves, chopped onion and sprinkle lemon juice over it.
Serve the yummy pavbhaji with hot pav with butter or oil.
Secret tip for diet cautious and senior citizens:
You can serve the pav by steaming it into a pressure cooker.
While using pressure cooker remove the whistle and put some water in it.
Now keep a vessel with pav in it and steam it for 5 to 7 minutes on high flame.
Turn off the gas after 5 to 7 minutes and here your soft, hot, spongy pav are ready to serve.
Senior citizens can eat these pav easily as it becomes very soft.
Those who are diet cautios, prefer to eat oil free or butter free pav.
