Here you will learn how to make gram flour balls curry or gatte ki sabji.
GRAM FLOUR BALLS CURRY
OR
GATTE KI SABJI
INGREDINTS
- Gram flour – 2 cups
- Salt – 2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder – 2 tablespoon
- Kashmiri red chili powder – 1 tablespoon
- Green chili and ginger paste – 1 teaspoon
- Chopped tomatoes – 1 cup
- Garam masala – 2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder – 2 teaspoon
- Mango powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds – 1 teaspoon
- Crushed seeds – 1 teaspoon
- Asafoetida – 2 pinch
- Powdered sugar – 1/2 tablespoon
- Coriander seeds powder – 2 tablespoon
- Cumin seed powder – 1 teaspoon
- Carom seeds – 1 teaspoon
- Refined oil – 3 tablespoon
- Refined oil – 3 tablespoon
- Garlic cloves – 5 to 6
- Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon
- Fresh water – 4 cups ( more or less as per requirement)
- Coriander leaves – 1/2 cup
- Lemon juice – 2 tablespoon or curd – 1 cup
COOKING TIME : 35 MINUTES
SERVE QUANTITY : 5 PLATES
PROCEDURE
First of all take gram flour in a bowl. Add salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, powdered sugar, sesame seeds, cumin powder, carom seeds, 1 tablespoon oil, 1 pinch asafoetida, crushed fennel powder, lemon juice or curd and some water.
Now mix it well and knead the dough. The dough should be tight with the help of some oil, knead it well.
Make round balls of the dough in medium size.
Now take a plate and one ball and roll on in a cylindrical shape.
Like this make all the rolls.
Meanwhile put a pan or kadhai on the gas on high flame with 3 cups of water in it for boiling.
Add the rolls into the boiling water one by one.
When the rolls are dropped into the boiling water, it remains at the bottom of the water.
After 5 to 7 minutes all the rills comes on the upper level of water and just float.
Here your rolls are cooked.
Turn off the gas and take out the rolls from water and keep in a plate. Now cut the rolls into small pieces. Here your all pieces (gatte) are ready.
*TIP : You can use this boiled water for making curry.
Now take a mixer jar with chopped tomatoes and garlic cloves. Grind it into a fine paste.
Take a pan or a kadhai with 2 tablespoon oil and heat it.
When oil is heated put mustard seeds and cumin seeds in it.
After mustard seeds and cumin seeds pops, add grinded paste and turmeric powder.
Saute it well. Add chili powder, garam masala, mango powder, kashmiri red chili powder, asafoetida, coriander seeds powder and again saute it well.
Add the boiled water which is already used and kept aside for making curry.
Stir it well so that the mixture gets well in water. Add 1 tablespoon salt.
Boil it for 5 minutes and drop all pieces (gate) one by one into the boiling water.
Stir it well and boil it till the curry is medium in consistency.
Here your gram balls curry ( Gatte ki sabji) is ready.
Garnish it with some coriander leaves.
You can serve this curry with chapati and plain rice.
